My favorite week of the year is the week between Christmas and New Years because I get to spend a lot of time with family/friends, and there's a lot of reflecting/celebrating happening. Today I had the honor of celebrating Meg + Andrew's engagement! We went to Tally's for a milkshake, the local laundromat and almost got kicked out, Cirque for coffee and cuddles on the couch, downtown Tulsa and tried to pop some bottles, hiked at Chandler Park to the place where they had their first date (a little over a year ago), and found a cool little dirt road on the side of the highway to end the day. This was my last shoot of 2017 and it happened to be one of my favorites! Shooting indoors has always been super intimidating to me, and we were inside for most of the day. This has been a year full of learning and mostly from my mistakes... 2017 began with me purchasing myself a new camera and lens (Canon 6D + 35mm 1.4 L) combined with only a desire to learn more about photography. I spent the first six months of the year begging people to stand in front of my camera while I fumbled through settings, and edited all my pictures on my phone. The second half of the year was a completely different story, I shot over 100 photo projects, six weddings (three out of state), and I learned a little about Lightroom! I never imagined that this year would turn out the way that it did. The thing that brings me the most joy in my photography adventure is being able to meet new friends + hear hundreds of stories, and getting the chance to give people snapshots of special moments they will cherish forever! Congrats, Meg + Andrew and thank you for such a fun day!
I hope you're enjoying the most magical week of the year!
